For the past 4 years, Taurus has hosted an annual Agronomy Update for our customers in Saskatchewan. This year, we decided to expand the line up, bring some exciting new speakers in and take it on the road! Our goal with the 3 days of seminars throughout the west was to introduce fertility concepts that are new, as well as, how the technology of yesterday may be more applicable today than ever. |
We started the day with a look into introducing the impact food quality may play in Canadian Agriculture. FBSciences along with their partners have been exploring improving nutrient density in food and enhancing the genetic expression of the crops we grow. Their long-term vision is to develop markets for producers to sell a value-added and nutrient dense product that consumers will be demanding more and more. |
| We set the tone for improving fertility efficiencies and continued on with Matt Clover of Agrium Advanced Technologies and his discussion around controlled release products in the market. He focussed on the polymer technology and how this technology has increased crop production and reduced Nitrogen losses. Matt also gave a look at what has occurred south of the border with ESN and where the product has fit best. | |
Our journey continued down the path of Back to the Future with Elston Solberg of Agri-Trend Agrology and his Do's and Don'ts of Elemental Sulphur. The product continues to face challenges from the industry and Elston did a great job of showing how to NOT make elemental sulphur work. His approach not only explains where the product fits best, but increased the awareness and importance of a good sulphur program. |
| We concluded the day with a look into the Future of Taurus and the introduction of our new Nutritionals by UAP. We gave a brief snapshot of the product line and continued talking about improving efficiencies in agriculture. There is no substitute for a solid fertility program but with new technology, we may be able to improve and enhance these programs for improved long-term results. |
We want to extend a big thank you to all of our customers who attended the events and for the feedback provided. We will do our best to enhance these meetings and continue to explore opportunities and products for your business. |
