Growing up on a pedigree seed farm, I developed a strong desire to enter the agriculture field. I studied through the U of S Diploma in Agriculture distance program while working full-time in various sales and customer service roles. This experience taught me how to work with various types of customers and the importance of hard work. Distance education requires dedication and self-discipline which I learned very early. In order to complete the Diploma in Agriculture program, it required a year on-campus. I moved away from home for 7 months with my 3 year old daughter to attend school in Saskatoon. When I finished I had my Ag Diploma with honors and also a new baby boy. It was definitely worth completing and it opened up some new opportunities as well.
I was employed as a crop adjuster for Saskatchewan Crop Insurance for 7 years out of the Preeceville office. During this time I had many opportunities to work in Customer Service and on special projects. The flexibility of this position allowed me to take on more work experiences in the agriculture field. I spent 2 summers doing Performance Inquiries for a crop inputs company and recently worked in the research and development of canola and corn in the Eastern part of Saskatchewan.
In getting to know and understand Taurus and the role they play, I learned many new aspects of agronomy and sales. I have had the chance to meet many great people in both the companies that we work with and the dealer and agronomist network. I am excited for the future of agriculture and look forward to what lies ahead.
Thanks for taking the time to read my little story. Please feel free to call me anytime.
